"Ain't no way my friends are seeing me in this."
I was 13 going to junior high school and my dad was dropping me and my sister off in a 1967 Pontiac Acadian. Now back then I had no taste and no interest for cars. I thought "this car is older than my grandparents". My sister and I ducked out the dack doors as low as we could; to the ground and then snuck up behind any car we could, where we "popped up" pretending that we just hopped out of it and not this "old car". If I only knew then what I know now...
I hated that car and everything about it in my teenage years. It was a Medium blue which was probably the only thing I liked aboout it. Eventually my dad sold it and I was so excited to never have to get dropped off at school again in it - the less embarassment the better.
Fast forward a few years and I start to learn about old cars and have a lot more respect for thier backgrounds and "vintage" years. Years passed and the car was never to be seen - not even once. You may be thinking "well this story is about a 67 Acadian, is it the same car?", and funny enough - yes, yes it is!
A few more years had passed and while I was a regular at my parents house for visits one visit changed it all. I pulle din the drive way and I seen the old won, faded and beat up Blue '67 Pontiac Acadian. I knew it was the car I used to duck out of the moment I laid eyes on it. I was taken back to my teen years, My dad and I joked about how me and my sister used to hide when he dropped us off and how we never liked teh car back then. I know my taste in cars have changed over the years. I enjoy a sports car - hence the 2 GM's on the project page, but I also love me an old vintage cruiser.
This car was originally intended to be my Younger brothers whom had since passed.
My dad felt it would be best if I was to take the project on and complete the work for him; in his memory and I thought "this is the best gift ever". I get to do something that I love - fix cars, and do it in memory of my lost brother. *Miss you everyday homie!*
From a car that I hated, to a car that was found in a field years and years later. Make no mistake this car was in a lot bettershare when I was a teen; but with a different view on cars now, I would drive it down the street in its current shape - proud to own it. .
This is where "her" story begins.
Progress will be updated once this project starts and all images will be added as they are available.
